The Cape Winelands
Just under an hour's drive from Cape Town is the heart of
the largest wine producing region in the Western Cape, with
a wide selection of wine farms and cellars as well as the
rich historical and cultural heritage of museums, galleries
and numerous restaurants serving the finest cuisine.
- Stellenbosch - This university town is the second
oldest town in South Africa has the most famous wine route
in the Western Cape. Surrounded by stunning scenery and
beautiful mountains. Stellenbosch has many galleries and
museums.
- Franschhoek - Situated in the beautiful Huguenot
Valley this small town is filled with quaint shops, art
galleries, restaurants, sidewalk cafés, wine estates, a
variety of accommodation, and is among the top five tourist
destinations in South Africa
- Paarl - Situated in the picturesque Berg River
valley. The buildings lining the main road (the longest
in the country) offer a combination of outstanding examples
of Cape Dutch, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco architecture.
