Cruise Ships
A Cruise ship holiday is a unique experience that represents
an element of elegance, sophistication and romance. Despite
the ultra modern design of cruise ships and their facilities,
there remains an air of mystery about a cruise - it is a diverse
and multi dimensional product. Besides this, there are many
more tangible attractions to cruising, such as pre and post
tours as well as shore excursions. Kuoni Private Safaris has
already successfully co-ordinated all the land arrangements
for two cruise ships which graced our shores in 2005 - one
in March 2006 as well as one in November 2006.
Previous Cruise Ships
February 2005 saw the arrival of the MS Albatross in South
Africa and in March 2005, the TS Maxim Gorki. Apart from the
various day excursions at the various coastal ports and pre
and post tours arranged by Kuoni Private Safari staff, each
ship has its own passenger exchange day. The Albatross saw
280 passengers disembarking and more than 350 embarking onto
the vessel. The Maxim saw 150 passengers disembarking and
nearly 200 embarking onto the vessel. An operations Manager
from Kuoni Private Safaris was on hand with both vessels at
each port to oversee the smooth running of each and every
excursion and procedure, and to make sure that all bookings
ran smoothly.
At the end of March 2006 Kuoni Private Safaris hosted the
MS Alexander von Humboldt as she called on South African ports
and enjoyed the many scenic highlights of South Africa and
in particular the ports of Cape Town, Mossel Bay, Durban and
Richards Bay. Kuoni Private Safaris planned and confirmed
pre-and post tours for guests traveling on this vessel as
well as day excursions to various parts of South Africa. Whilst
docked in Cape Town harbour, there was a passenger exchange
day arranged by Kuoni Private Safaris where 295 passengers
either disembarked or embarked onto the vessel.
In November 2006 the MS Amadea graced our shores. This magnificent
cruise ship offers her 600 passenger's unrivalled levels of
comfort and luxury. The Amadea visited all major ports in
South Africa, including a 4-day stop to Cape Town followed
by Mossel Bay, Port Elizabeth, Durban and finally Richards
Bay. Kuoni Private Safaris confirmed pre - and post tours,
day excursions for passengers traveling on the Amadea, as
well as co-ordinated a passenger exchange day with a movement
of 500 passengers either embarking or disembarking from the
vessel.
