Volcanoes National Park – Explore this adventurous haven to the Mountain Gorilla and once home to zoologist Dian Fossy! The park gets its name as it comprises five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains, namely: Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo. Besides trekking in the montane, bamboo and rain forests, guests can visit Fossey’s tomb, tour the lakes, climb volcanoes and explore the many caves.

Nyungwe National Park – Nestled across the majestic hills of southern Rwanda, Nyungwe National Park is the largest area of montane forest in East and Central Africa. It is also one of the oldest forests in Africa and as such is a remarkably rich centre of biodiversity, and is home to over 75 mammal species, 275 endemic and migratory bird species, 120 butterfly species and over 100 orchid species. Nyungwe is most alluring for its primates, 13 species in all, including humankind’s closest living relative the chimpanzee.
