Recently staff had the opportunity to view one of the most creative accommodation ideas that Cape Town seen. The Grand Daddy Hotel, owned by Daddy Long Legs Group, has created an Airstream Penthouse Trailer Park on the roof of the hotel!
The park is high enough to avoid the traffic and exhaust fumes while appreciating the view of the mountain and the unusual angle of the city. It is a truly unique alternative to conventional hotel accommodation.
The park comprises of seven original Airstream trailers ranging in size, model and origin from the USA, each decorated inside by a different South Afrcan artist with a variety of themes that are so interesting and so novel that it makes you want to spend the night there just for the experience!
Each of the trailers vary in size, with the smallest one including a private outside bathroom. All include proper plumbing and air-conditioning, making them all the more comfortable.
Wooden pathways lead between the trailers to various open spaces and a garden of indigenous plants, adding some greenery to this city oasis.
The roof also sports a bar area and an area with comfortable couches that are covered by a free form tent, making it an ideal location for a private celebration with a small group of friends or family.

| New lodge for Mantis Collection to open in April 2009 |
Exciting news from the Mantis Collection is that Nkomazi Game Reserve is opening in April this year. Just 4 hours drive from Johannesburg, the reserve is situated close to the picturesque town of Barberton, the Kruger National Park, Pilgrims Rest, the Blyde River Canyon, Gods' Window and other wonders of the escarpment region.
It includes the best-preserved truly ancient rocks on earth as well as interesting geomorphic features and represents a kaleidoscope of Africa's habitats including the Big 5 and rare flora such as the Barberton Daisy.

| First White Rhino Calf Born at Garden Route Game Lodge |

A baby white Rhino was born at Garden Route Game Lodge on the 2nd of January 2009. This is the first white rhino to be born at the lodge.
Only 3½ scenic hours drive from Cape Town, this malaria free private game reserve is home to an abundance of animal and bird life including the "Big 5".
The little wrinkly miracle was first spotted in bushes by resident field guide Julius Schultz, who saw the little calf emerge from underneath its mother. The party on the game drive was ecstatic and overwhelmed to witness this small miracle of nature.

| Incentive Travel Conference to be held in South Africa |
The Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE) annual conference is going to be held in South Africa in 2010 with about 400 incentive professionals attending the conference.
SITE is the only international, not-for-profit, professional association devoted to the pursuit of excellence in incentives and provides educational seminars and information services. There are currently 2,100 members in 87 countries, with 35 local and regional chapters.
Cape Town is considered as the world’s best incentive destination and looks forward to showcasing Cape Town and the Western Cape to the global incentives industry. |

| Etosha Safari Lodge officially opens |
Etosha Safari Lodge, part of the Gondwana Collection has opened. The lodge consists of 50 bungalows, a restaurant, bar and swimming pool and is situated on a hillock offering magnificent views across tree-covered hills towards Etosha National Park - one of the oldest conservation areas in Africa.
Etosha’s Andersson Gate is a mere 10 km away. Activities at the lodge include guided game drives to park for those who prefer not to drive themselves.

In less than 500 days' time, South Africans will open their doors, hearts and sporting spirits to the world as hosts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. An expected 450’000 international fans are expected to descend on South Africa to share in the excitement come June 2010.
On the organizational front, the country remains on track to meet the infrastructure requirements of the tournament. Ten world-class stadiums remain on course to be completed by the end of 2009, well ahead of the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, a tournament which is considered to be the dress rehearsal for World Cup host countries, hits SA's shores in just five months. Four venues selected for the "Festival of Champions" will be ready to welcome the competing teams.
