Babylonstoren - inspired by the mythical gardens of Babylon |

Just 60 kms from Cape Town in the Groot Drakenstein Valley between Franshoek and Paarl, is where you will find Babylonstoren. One of the oldest Cape Dutch Farms in the region, it was named in honour of the biblical tower of Babylon and dates back to 1692.
The 8 acre formal French kitchen garden was inspired by Cape Town’s famous 17th century Company Gardens of the Dutch East India Company, is the central focus of the farm.
The garden is home to only edible and medicinal plants which are grown as biologically as possible.
Today, cultivation of the freshest produce is paramount and the menu at the farm’s restaurant, Babel, is driven by the seasons and what nature dictates. With over 300 fruits, vegetables and herbs to choose from, there is always something fresh and inspiring.
Overlooking the vineyards and garden with the historic werf (farm buildings) forming a backdrop, Babylonstoren’s 12 country guest suites echo early Cape Dutch farm buildings. This style was developed in the Cape Colony in the 17th and 18th centuries: the outer walls are whitewashed and decorated with ornate gables and thatched roofs. The interiors are pleasantly cool in summer (due to the thick walls) and are heated by open hearths in winter.
Guests are encouraged to pick their own produce to be prepared for delicious meals, explore the 280 hectare working fruit and wine farm and enjoy the ‘natural dam’ swimming pool and spa.

New Villas at Saxon Boutique Hotel |

The Saxon Boutique Hotel, Villas and Spa has opened its newly constructed five-star Saxon Villas. This award wining boutique hotel is located in the beautiful and tranquil suburb of Sandhurst in close proximity to Sandton and offers guests a luxurious retreat.
Each of the new villas has its own private plunge pool, terrace and lounge, satellite kitchen and butler service as well as a boardroom that can be converted into a dining room.
An added feature is that each villa also has its own lift to transfer guests from the newly constructed 170-vehicle capacity parking lot, allowing guests to check-in in the privacy of their own suite.
Villa One offers 7 full suites on one level and Villa Two and Three are two storeys each with the ground level providing 7 suites. The upper levels of these Villas each contain 4 one-bedroom Presidential Suites that can be converted into 2 two-bedroom Platinum Suites.
There is also a Spa Suite for private en-suite spa treatments and therapies.
Every piece of furniture in the villas was made custom made using only South African materials and craftsmen. There are also over 200 original works of art commissioned by established and emerging South African artists throughout the new buildings.
During construction, The Saxon Boutique Hotel also completed an upgrade to ensure that the new levels of service excellence were consistent across the Saxon properties. |

While all rooms are of equally high standard, each category room has certain features that distinguishes one for the other and allows guests to select the room that suits both their needs and occasion.
