The Overberg
The region is home to the southern right whale, exquisite
seaside towns, framed by magnificent mountain ranges as well
as a great variety of fynbos and wild flowers.
- Cape Agulhas - Africa's most southern tip, containing
well restored white-washed fishermen's cottages which are
under monument protection.
- Hermanus - A thriving tourist town known for its
shore based whale watching (reputed to be one of the best
places in the world for viewing).
- Swellendam- Situated halfway between Cape Town
and the Garden Route and is a popular destination for outdoor
enthusiasts.

The Garden Route
This region stretches from Mossel Bay along the East Coast
to the Tsitsikamma Forest and Storms River and is a very popular
tourist destination.
- Mossel Bay - This is a favourite coastal holiday
destination and has a rich history.
- George - The centre of the garden route and has
many historical landmarks.
- Knysna - In the heart of the Garden route offering
a diverse mix of attractions and activities and surrounded
by world-renowned indigenous forests and the lagoon.
- Wilderness - The region is surrounded by lakes,
forests, rivers, mountains and miles of unspoiled beaches.
- Tsitsikamma - Containing the country's biggest
indigenous forests including the giant Outeniqua yellowwood
tree, fynbos, stunning wetlands and is also a bird lover's
paradise.
- Outeniqua Choo Tjoe - A classic steam train that
takes the passenger through the magnificent indigenous forests
and pristine coastal beaches.
- Plettenberg Bay -The jewel of the Garden Route
with its unspoilt beaches, the Robberg Peninsula, lagoons
and indigenous forests.
