Cape Town Scootour

“If happiness is the goal – and it should be, then adventure should be a priority.” — Richard Branson

Most people with Cape Town on their bucket lists are aware of the prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town – Table Mountain. This significant tourist attraction sees many visitors daily as they use the cableway or hike to the top. However, Scootours Cape Town offers quite a unique way to explore this iconic flat-topped mountain by means of a non-motorised, eco-friendly Monster Mountain Scooter!

My husband and I went to experience this for ourselves one weekend and we were thoroughly impressed by this unique offering, I mean, how many people can say they scootered down Signal Hill? Our journey and first track started on Signal Hill and ran down all the way into Bo-Kaap. We were led by two guides – one who scootered at the front of the pack and the other that went ahead and stationed himself at key points to capture snapshots of us racing down the hill in gleeful wonder. Once we reached the bottom, we were collected and taken up beyond the lower cableway station to the beginning of the Dead Man’s Tree path for the final run as we descended the mountain into Deer Park.

This 2-hour adventure was fast-paced and adrenaline-inducing as we zoomed over loose rocks and gravel leaving only a cloud of dust in our wake. The view was stunning, even for a local like myself, I was left with my jaw hanging in awe. All one can see is a bird’s-eye view of the city as it flows toward the Atlantic.

This thrilling tour is a great way to spend 2 hours of a traveller’s day or even to combine with a trip in the Cable Car to explore the top of Table Mountain. For an exciting way to explore the iconic landmark, a Scootour trip is highly recommended!
